Open Door Sports Receives the 2024 Outstanding Partner Award from the Spirit Club Foundation

Open Door Sports’s (ODS) was chosen as the 2024 recipient of the Spirit Club Foundation’s Outstanding Partner Award which recognizes provider organizations that actively embrace the foundations’ support to make fitness available to people with disabilities and for providing opportunities for all children to thrive in sports
The award was presented October 13^th at the Spirit Club Foundation’s Fall Festival which brings together people of all abilities to celebrate fitness, community and empowerment. Congressman Jamie Raskin emceed the award ceremony, presenting the Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition to Nanci Sundel on behalf of ODS. ODS also received special recognition from the Montgomery County Council, represented by Andrew Friedson who underscored that ODS is “helping Montgomery County live values out loud in providing inclusive opportunities for everybody in our community.” Maryland State Senators Greg Zucker and Jeff Waldstreicher and delegate Jared Solomon from Maryland’s District 14 General Assembly also presented ODS with special recognition and citations.
ODS is honored to receive the Spirit Club Foundation’s Outstanding Partner Award and is appreciative of their financial support helping to enable our adapted sports program to remain free of charge.
