Open Door Sports Inc. (ODS) is proud to announce that we’ve been selected as a trusted and critical small nonprofit in the Greater Washington region by Spur Local, formerly the Catalogue for Philanthropy. Being part of their 2023 class, alongside other incredible peer nonprofits, shows both the critical impact we make as an organization and our collective strength as a movement for social good.
Every year, Spur Local engages a team of 150+ volunteers who live or work in the Greater Washington region – at local foundations, peer nonprofits, and more – as part of their rigorous application process that includes a program and financial review as well as a site visit. We appreciate the community advocates who volunteered their time and experience as part of this process, and for recognizing the work we do.
“Recognizing and amplifying the impact of organizations like the ones in our new class is at the very heart of Spur Local,” said Matt Gayer, Executive Director of Spur Local. “These small nonprofits are creating local and hyperlocal change on a community-level. The significance of that for our region, and as a model for other regions, cannot be overstated.”
