ODS Wins Southwest Airlines' Contest

Open Door Sports Inc. has been selected as one of Southwest Airlines One Million Acts of Kindness, One Million Dollars of Thanks contest winners.Southwest was “so impressed with how the ODS team puts their heart in action to spread kindness in the community.” ODS was one of 50 organizations to win 100 domestic, one-way e-passes.

ODS launched the ODS Kindness Contest to distribute half of the tickets to the families we serve. ODS players were asked to submit an entry depicting what about Open Door Sports they are thankful for or how they think Open Door Sports shares kindness. Entries included drawings, poems, letters, posters and videos. Six winners were chosen on December 30th and each won 4 roundtrip domestic flights on Southwest.

The other half of the tickets are being used to raise funds to help ODS continue providing free high quality adapted sports programs to children with disabilities. All donors of $150 or more who donated to ODS before Giving Tuesday were entered into a drawing with 2 winners selected to each win 2 roundtrip domestic flights on Southwest. The rest of the tickets will be auctioned off as part of the ODS Online Silent Auction in conjunction with the ODS Gala: Opening Doors, Hearts & Minds May 7^th at the Glenview Mansion in Rockville.

ODS is thrilled by this recognition of their work, by the ability to share these tickets with the families they serve and by the funding these tickets will enable.
